Jackson Academy Lower School art teacher Kateri Tolo and new Middle School art teacher Jacob Rowan will exhibit their work along with other artists in an an art show opening in the Jackson Academy Performing Arts Center. They are part of the Jackson Art Movement, a group that seeks to inspire people in the city of Jackson to engage their community and culture. The opening reception will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on November 21, and is free to the public. Exhibitors also include Kathryn Wiggins, Allison Jeffries, Sarah Grafton, Clara Bradford, Samara Thomas, and Garrett Nasrallah.

Four-legged Friends Inspire Students
It is said that centuries ago King Frederick II of Prussia referred to dogs as the best, most loyal friend a person could have. That devotion to canines was prevalent on JA’s campus Monday as fourth graders celebrated National Dog Day. Teachers created a dynamic day of learning that reinforced reading, writing, presenting, researching, drawing, and forming opinions, all in celebration of four-legged friends.
Club Fair Garners Signatures for Campus Groups
The Gallery of the Performing Arts Center was abuzz Monday with students signing up for roles in their areas of interest. The annual Club Fair is a way for students to learn about organizations they want to join - whether it is Fellowship of Christian Athletes or Chess Club, Interact Club or Outdoor Recreation Club. Each club had a booth with members of the club telling students about the club's purpose and activities.
Tailgate Party Welcomes New Families
Jackson Academy is thrilled to welcome our new families this year. The Annual New Family Tailgate was the perfect way to celebrate before the football game on Friday evening. Families enjoyed refreshments and games together prior to kick off of the first home football game of the season. Whether you're a sports fan or just love good food and great company, a tailgate party is always fun!
